Privacy

What this website collects, and what it doesn't.

This page describes how ProVolley Academy’s website handles information. It covers this website only. It does not cover the club’s activities away from the website, or any separate service the club uses that has its own privacy policy, such as the registration and membership systems this site links out to.

There are no accounts on this site

You cannot sign up, sign in, or create a profile here. The site does not ask you for a password and does not know who you are between visits. The only sign-in on this domain is /studio, the club’s own content editor, which is for club staff and is handled by Sanity’s login.

This site sets no cookies of its own

No cookie is set by this website for advertising, profiling, or following you between sites. Third-party content embedded in a page can set its own cookies, and those embeds are listed below.

One thing is stored in your browser, and it never leaves it: when you dismiss the promotional pop-up, the site records that dismissal in your browser’s local storage so the pop-up does not keep reappearing. It holds only which version of the notice you closed and when. It is not sent anywhere and it is not used to identify you. Clearing your browsing data removes it, and the pop-up will appear once more.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors or follow them across other websites. It records the page visited, the referring page, and coarse technical details such as country, browser, operating system, and whether the device is a phone or a desktop.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes each request in order to serve it, and standard request logs, including the requesting IP address, exist briefly as part of running the service.

Where the content comes from

Page content and images are managed in Sanity, a hosted content system. Images are fetched and resized by this site’s own server, so your browser requests them from this domain rather than from Sanity directly.

Season records and fixtures on the Teams pages are read from published Volleyball NSW ladder data on a schedule. That is public competition data about teams. It contains no information about you.

Getting in touch

The contact page has a form. What you type into it, your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, the topic you pick and your message, is sent straight to the club’s inbox as an email. It is not stored on this website and it is not added to any mailing list. The club replies to you from its own inbox, so the conversation carries on by ordinary email from there.

Sending that email is done by Resend, an email delivery service. Resend handles the message in order to deliver it and keeps a short-lived record of the send, which includes your email address, as any mail service does. If you would rather not go through a third party at all, the club’s address is on the same page and you can write from your own mail app instead, which also means you keep a copy in your sent items.

There is no newsletter sign-up

This site has no mailing list and no subscribe box. If the club starts one, the box will appear and this page will say what the mailing-list provider receives and keeps before it does.

Third-party embeds and links

  • Facebook— the home page embeds Facebook’s own page plugin, which is loaded from facebook.com. That means Meta receives your IP address and can set its own cookies when the home page loads, under Meta’s terms rather than the club’s.
  • Instagram— the home page currently shows the club’s Instagram handle and a link to the profile, and no posts. When the feed is connected, posts will be cached by this site and served from this domain, so viewing them will not call Instagram from your browser. Following the link to the profile does take you to Instagram, under Meta’s own terms.
  • Google Maps — the contact page embeds a map for the selected training venue. The map is loaded from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and can set its own cookies when that page loads.
  • Registration, membership and shop links — buttons such as Join Now, Register and Memberships take you to services the club uses, including 360Player and Revolutionise. Anything you enter there is collected by that service under its own privacy policy, not by this website.

Children

The club runs junior programs, and this website is written for families. The only personal information the site asks anyone for is what a parent or guardian chooses to type into the contact form, and that goes to the club as an email rather than into any database here. The form is written for the adult making the enquiry, not for the player, and it never asks for a child’s details. Photographs of players published on this site are supplied by the club.

Questions, or asking about your information

If you have written to the club and want to know what was kept, want a copy, or want it deleted, email info@provolley.com.au.
