Bailee Blackman Commits to the University of New Brunswick

We are thrilled to announce that Bailee Blackman has committed to the University of New Brunswick (UNB) REDS women’s volleyball program in Canada. The REDS compete in U SPORTS, Canada’s national university sport competition, and last season the program was consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the country.

A year of growth

Bailee’s commitment caps a remarkable 2026. With ProVolley she played in Volleyball NSW’s Premier League Volleyball (PLV) and in China’s Volleyball Amateur League (VAL), the league Olympic champion Hui Ruoqi founded in Xiamen. She also travelled with us to Xiamen for the China Volleyball Camp 2026, represented Australia in the U20 team, and was named in the 2026 NSW Phoenix squad for the Mahindra Australian Volleyball Super League.

Every step has shown what we see at training every week: her work ethic, her hunger to learn and the way she lifts the people around her. Watching her develop with us has been a privilege.

About UNB

Founded in 1785, the University of New Brunswick is one of the oldest universities in Canada, with its main campus in Fredericton. The REDS are known for a strong program and team culture, and Bailee will continue both her studies and her volleyball there.

In their words

REDS Head Coach Lauren Hale-Miller describes Bailee as “an athletic and versatile player who can contribute in multiple positions”, and expects her to add valuable depth to the team’s outside positions.

Bailee thanked her ProVolley coaches, Max Gubbiotti and Ana Calaza, for the guidance, training and experiences that shaped her development, and Athena Sports Agency for their support through the recruitment process.

Congratulations, Bailee! Everyone at ProVolley is incredibly proud of you, and we can’t wait to follow your journey with the REDS. Go REDS!
